Inverell police were involved in a high-speed pursuit with a white Ford Rainger in Inverell on Friday night with road spikes used to bring the pursuit to an end.
Despite being disabled, the vehicle continued to disobey directions to stop before coming to a stop at the Intersection of Tingha Rd where the driver was arrested.
A search of the vehicle identified several knives, drugs and related paraphernalia which were seized by Police with the driver subjected to a roadside drug test which returned a positive indication for Cannabis and Methylamphetamine.
He was charged with the Police pursuit, disqualified driving, custody of knife in public place and possessing prohibited drug.
The accused was refused bail by Police and by Parramatta Local Court on Saturday and will reappear in court next month.
