Magpies Edge Out Tigers

by | May 18, 2026 | Sport

The Glen Innes Magpies held on to defeat a determined Tingha Tigers outfit on Saturday to record a 32-22 win at Meade Park in Group 19 Round 6 results.

After getting out to a 12-0 lead in the first half, the Magpies let the Tigers back into the game and trailed Tingha early in the second half before digging deep late in the game

Magpie Co Coach Nick Ehsman says his team done it the hard way adding they gave up a lot of ball but again managed to find the try line and put points on the board.

Meantime, Inverell Hawks massive 64-4 win over the Guyra Super Spuds on Saturday has come at a cost with several players injured and putting them in doubt for this week while Warialda held on to defeat the Moree Boomerangs 28-26

In ladies league tag, the Hawkettes were too good for Guyra winning 42-0 while in Reserve grade the Hawks registered a 36-6 win over Guyra
