Local Bakery MacIntyre Hotbread have come back to Inverell with a swag of ribbons from the Australian Best Pie & Pastie Competition held in Sydney on Wednesday.
Bakery owner Mitchell Johnson says they received a bronze for their Plain pie and silver for their Pepper. Cheese & bacon, Mexican, Chicken, Brisket & Cheese, Cob Loaf, Steak Dianne and Meat lovers pies.
Mitchell says he wasn’t expecting the results they received, adding it’s given him more motivation to enter next year’s competition.

Highly esteemed and recognized as one of the most prestigious food competitions in the Australasian region, Australia’s Best Pie and Pastie Competition is organized by the Baking Association of Australia and is the only industry run competition.
