The latest results of PFAS testing across town water supplies for Inverell, Ashford and Yetman have confirmed all raw water sources and treated water supplies are well below the new PFAS limits outlined in the Australian Drinking Water Guidelines.
Testing conducted in June revealed both Inverell and Ashford had no PFAS detectible concentrations and Yetman had some detectible concentrations, however, they were well below the revised limits.
Council’s Water Services division will continue to conduct PFAS testing as per the regime presented at April’s Ordinary Council meeting.
The regime includes one test annually for Inverell and Ashford Water Treatment Plants and bi-annually for Yetman’s treatment plant for the next two years and if no adverse change is detected, reduce testing to once every two years for all plants.
