The Under 25 Australian F Open team consisting of three members from the Inverell RSM Civilian Rifle Club including Byron La Fontaine, Jacob Campbell and Isabella Campbell are currently shooting for the World Under 25 championship in the UK.
In recent days they have competed in the World individual championships and been outstanding in the senior competition.
Shooting against the world’s best, Jock Foster from Armidale came 4th, Byron 25th, Mia Lowe from Goondiwindi 36th and Beau Turnbull from Armidale 53rd in a field of 220.
The Australian juniors in their class were 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 5th, 6th and 7th.
And finally the team were crowned world champions yesterday on the final day of competition at the World Championships claiming gold, after defeating the USA with NSW Rifle association saying this is a phenomenal achievement for our young athletes and a huge moment for the future of Australian F‑Class shooting.
