A local man who came to Inverell last year to retire will be ordained into the Anglican Priesthood this Sunday at St Augustine’s Anglican Church in Inverell.
The Ordination of David Thomas is the first such service to be held at St. Augustine’s for many decades and will have in attendance the Bishop of Armidale, Rod Chiswell with the service to be led by Senior Minister Adam Draycott and Reverend Cedric Tang leading the morning prayers.
The service will start at 9am.
Mr Thomas, who had worked in the public sector in the water industry for nearly 40 years in various locations in country NSW, retired in January to serve as a lay ministry worker at Inverell Anglican Church.
He will serve the parishes of Delungra and Ashford and is supported by his wife, Anita and says he is looking forward to working within the community.
