Local trainer Dean Smith has made a successful return to the track snaring a winner with his first runner for 25 months.
Smith saddled up KINGS GOLD to win a Benchmark 58 race at Gunnedah on Saturday.
His last runner was in September 2022, coincidentally also a winner on that occasion.
At the Armidale Cup meeting yesterday, the Ridge Wilson -trained PURPLE ESPRIT won the final race.
