Inverell police were kept busy following incidents which took place over the weekend.
Counterfeit currency was identified at a local licenced premises with shop owners urged to remain vigilant when accepting cash to ensure its authenticity. On this occasion a fake $50 note was used.
Two offenders attempted to enter a home on Andrew Street in Inverell Sunday morning with the occupant being alerted by a CCTV system which sent an alert to his phone, foiling the attempted break-in.
Police were called to a single vehicle collision on Byron Street at the intersection of Wood St on Saturday night.
It’s believed the vehicle mounted the roundabout and collided with a rock, subsequently writing off the vehicle. Police say driver fatigue was a factor. Fire & Rescue NSW attended to deal with fluids on the roadway. The 38-year-old driver sustained minor injuries.
A 40-year-old male driver was detected driving whilst his licence was suspended on Grove Road, Tingha on Friday night. The man was issued a Court attendance notice to appear at Inverell local court at a later date.
And finally, a 31-year-old female driver was detected driving a motor vehicle whilst disqualified on Otho Street, Inverell on Saturday morning. The driver was stopped by police and issued a Court attendance Notice to appear at Inverell local court 26/02.
