A local junior boxer has walked away with a championship in a recent fight at the Gold Coast after just 2 years in the sport.
Inverell’s Riley Bartlett started boxing at the age of just 13 and has trained especially hard, leading him to an event held at the Gold Coast last month, the young fighter having a last minute swap to southpaw Jayden Randall just days before fight took place.
The 15 yr old proved too strong for Randall, with Bartlett giving him an 8 count in the 2nd round and going on to win with a unanimous decision.
Other local fighters that went to the event were 22 yr old Brock Adams who scored a narrow win by points, 20 yr old Brody Wilson dominating each round and 21 yr old Billy Tyne just managing to hold off a short power puncher and win by a close decision.
