by | Dec 16, 2024 | Sport | 0 comments

Only one match was completed on Saturday following the final round of matches before the Christmas New Year break in the Inverell Cricket Competition.

A heavy shower fell during the Campbell & Freebairn and Square & Compass match at Varley Oval forcing the game to be deemed a wash out draw.

Prior to the rain, Square and Compass were in a good position with Jai Tasker unbeaten on 84 in his teams’ score of 2/149.

Meantime, Staggy Creek steamrolled Delungra by 170 runs at McCosker 2 with Staggy bowler Rohan Guests’ hattrick being the highlight of the game while Will Marshall finished with the figures of 4/4.

Staggy amassed 5/220 with Tom Nelson top scoring with 92 and in reply Delungra were bowled out for 50.

At the halfway mark of the season, Square & Compass lead the competition followed by Staggy Creek, Campbell and Freebairn Rebels in 3rd while Delungra bring up the field.
