Landholders Urged to Be Vigilant for Fires

by | Nov 4, 2024 | Rural, Community | 0 comments

The NSW Rural Fire Service has reminded landholders to be wary of fire as conditions change across the New England.

The New England RFS advises with drying winds and increased temperatures, landholders are being encouraged to be careful with the use of fire in the landscape.

Today’s weather forecast indicates winds to be 20-30 kms with possible storms and the Service has asked landholders who’ve been burning in recent days, to check their burns or piles to ensure they are completely out and there are no reignition risks

The Service reports in the past week, there have been a couple of pile reignitions, which luckily have been able to be brought under control quickly.

Fire permit holders should check weather conditions before lighting up.
