Land Valuations are expected to be released this week with ratepayers advised they have 60 days to lodge an objection to their new valuation should they wish to do so.
Ratepayers wishing to lodge an objection need to contact the Valuer General who sets and oversees the valuation of land in NSW, instead of their local council.
Land values for the Inverell Shire increased by 17.25% during the 2024 general revaluation, noting that in the 2022 general revaluation land values increased by 78.46%.
Councils use land values to calculate rates and while Inverell Shire Council’s total overall land values has increased by 17.25%, Council’s rating income does not increase by 17.25% adding Council must ensure that the total income received from rates does.
Objections can be lodged at www.nsw.gov.au/valuergeneral or by calling 1800 110 038 to discuss the options available to you.
