A man who had dedicated much of his life serving the community was recognised yesterday with Life membership to Northaven Disability Services.

Peter Kearsey received the accolade in recognition of his commitment and years of service to Northaven during the opening of the Haven Café Florist and Giftware at the new location at 140 Byron St.

Mr Kearsey began with Northaven in 1995 as a Board Member and fulfilled a role as Vice chairperson for 11 year and then chairman for the past 6 years, relinquishing the role following last year’s AGM.

He says he had no idea he was receiving the life membership and was thankful for the accolade especially the volunteers who do all the work.
