Joyce to Butt Heads with Colleagues on Net Zero

by | Jul 24, 2025 | Politics | 0 comments

New England MP Barnaby Joyce says he will wedge his colleagues in the National Party to reveal their exact position on the Net Zero policy.

It follows Mr Joyce tabling a Private Members Bill to repeal Net Zero and have it refined, saying he’s doing it for the people struggling to pay their power bills, businesses on the edge of viability because of energy cost and farms being overrun with transmission lines or afflicted with wind turbine towers and paddocks of panels.

Speaking on STA FM, Mr Joyce says there are people in his party who openly say they don’t support transmission lines or solar panels and are fighting for the farmers but behind closed doors in their party room, they do the opposite to ensure they keep their job in Canberra.

Mr Joyce says there are many colleagues very worried about the Bill adding they’re very annoyed and angry with him but hopes the Bill will get to be voted on so Australians can then see politicians’ positions on Net Zero.
