With the shock announcement of David Littleproud resignation as leader of the National Party yesterday, New England MP Barnaby Joyce says something doesn’t add up.
An emotional Mr Littleproud stepped down as leader saying he was buggered, and had enough, adding it was time for someone new to take the reins.
Speaking on Sky News last night, Mr Joyce questioned the timing of Mr Littleproud’s announcement, adding why didn’t he make the announcement before the Farrer pre-selection or when Liberal leader Susan Ley stepped down to give the Coalition a clean slate.
Mr Joyce says the public is not being told the full story of Mr Littleproud’s resignation and expects the details to come out.
