Member for New England Barnaby Joyce travelled to Bingara this week where he spoke to locals regarding issues raised in the area.

According to local Bingara residents, the biggest issue facing the region is not only the lack of communications towers, with only one tower to service the entire area, but the absence of a power generator when power to the tower is knocked out.

Locals have voiced concerns outlining the detrimental effects it would have once power is lost to the communications tower, including loss of signal to make bank transactions as well as transmitting information for the operation of medical equipment at the local hospital and emergency services.
