Inverell Shire council has approved to bring funding forward from the Regional Emergency Road Repair Fund to carry out maintenance works across Council’s unsealed road network.

The road network experienced increased deterioration in March and April this year following significant periods of wet weather

At last week’s monthly meeting, Council moved to endorse over $147 thousand and over $130,000 from the 2027/2028 Regional Emergency Road Repair Fund Budget be allocated to the 2024/2025 maintenance grading for Northern Roads and Southern Roads respectively and over $50,000 be allocated from the unallocated 2024/2025 budget to the Northern and Southern Gravel Patching budgets.

Priority roads identified as being affected by the climatic conditions and requiring maintenance include Tarwoona Rd, Holdfast Rd, Atholwood Rd, and Graman Rd, Nullamanna Rd, Pindaroi Rd, Masterman’s Rd, Delungra Rd and Glen Esk Rd.
