Investigators attached to the Rural Crime Prevention Team received reports of the theft of 30 sheep from a property on Copeton Dam Road, Copeton, about 32km south-west of Inverell, between 12pm on Monday 5 August and 9am on Wednesday 7 August.

Police were told the 30 sheep are aussie white cross black dorper pregnant ewes and are between 3 and 6-years-old. They have black, orange or purple ear tags with ND 593325 printed on them with an ear mark of S.


In another unrelated matter, Investigators attached to the Rural Crime Prevention Team received reports of the ongoing theft of multiple head of cattle from a property on Tiengha Road, Bundarra, about 38km south of Inverell, since late 2022.

The cattle are described as straight angus or black baldy cows, cows and calves and weaners. They contain yellow management tags with “Torsdale” and a phone number printed on them. The weaners contain red management tags with the same details printed and a brand of AAH.
Officers have commenced an investigation into both circumstances surrounding the thefts.
