An 18-year-old Inverell man has been issued a $500 criminal infringement notice for street fighting on Friday night.
Just before 9:45, police were patrolling Byron Street Inverell when a fight broke out between two males at the corner of Byron and Lawrence Streets, watched by several on lookers.
Police apprehended one of the males after a short foot pursuit into Byron Lane.
The male was removed from the area and issued a direction not to re-enter the CBD for the remainder of the evening and has since been issued a $500 fine for offensive behaviour.
Investigations are continuing in order to identify the second male.
