Inverell Shire Mayor Kate Dight has paid tribute to outgoing independent member for the Audit Risk and Improvement Committee Phil Schwenke for his almost 8 years in the role.
Mayor Dight says Mr Schwenke has changed how Council has provided its governance during his tenure adding she has seen first-hand the way he has worked methodically in a dedicated fashion and with the best of intentions to ensure Council delivers on its governance.
During last week’s Council meeting, Mr Schwenke gave a favorable report confirming council is in a financially good position.
Cr Dight says she’s excited about the appointment of Mr Schwenke’s replacement in Rhonda Wheatley who comes highly regarded with a wonderful resume and experience.
