Inverell Shire Council’s financial position remains sound with councillors expected to adopt the Quarterly Operational Plan and Budget Review for 31 December 2024 at today’s council meeting.

Despite expenditure increasing to $20.97 million and revenue growing by $14.07M, Council’s net budget variation for 2024/25 remains at zero due to Councils utilization of reserves.

The Consolidated Income and Expense Statement indicates a surplus from all activities to 31 December 2024, of  approximately $5 million, against a budgeted annual result of $4,715 indicating that sufficient funding remains available to fund Council’s operations for the next 6 months to June 30^th 2025

All other council funds including its General Fund, Investments, Water, Sewerage and the combined operational and financial fund are stated to be in a sound position.
