Inverell Medical Centre have clarified the current situation in relation to available doctor appointments being taken at present.
The Centre currently 6 full-time doctors and 2 part-time of which there are 3 junior doctors.
Following an interview on STA FM this morning with Chamber President Monique Krauss who said the Centre was reopening their books, the practice was inundated with numerous calls seeking doctor appointments, but Andrew McIntyre from Inverell Medical Centre says they’re only taking patients who currently do not have access to a doctor in town.
Mr McIntyre says they’re working to increase access to medical care into the future but at this stage are not taking any person currently with another doctor.
