The Inverell community is mourning the loss of a man who dedicated is life to serving the town and family.
Peter Kearsey passed away on Tuesday morning surrounded by loved ones at the age 79 following a short illness.
Mr Kearsey story is one of great achievement after being orphaned as a child in the UK before arriving in Australia in the 60’s at the age 14.
He served in many roles at various organisations including Northaven, Inverell Legacy Club, and Inverell Lions club where he was bestowed the Lions highest international honor of being awarded the Melvin Jones Fellowship award in 2016.
Earlier this year, Mr Kearsey was awarded Life membership to Northaven Disability Services in recognition of his 30 years of commitment and years of service.
Mr Kearsey is survived by his wife Desi, 3 boys, Bill, Bob and David and a swarm of grandkids and great grandchildren.
His funeral will be held this Wednesday at 2:30pm at the Inverell Racecourse.
