Inverell Hockey is popping the champagne after two of their women’s teams were crowned state champions following the 2026 NSW Masters Hockey Northern Championships held in Grafton over the weekend.
The Inverell Flamingos combined skill, determination and teamwork to claim the 34s Division title and bring home gold for Inverell while the Inverell Duckies fought their way through a highly competitive field to secure the 50s Division State Championship.
Inverell’s third team, the Swans, competed in the 40s Division and represented the club with pride throughout the tournament, displaying the sportsmanship, commitment and team spirit that has become synonymous with Inverell Hockey.
Kathy Johansson from Inverell Hockey says to have two of the club’s three women’s teams return home as NSW State Champions is a remarkable achievement and a testament to the strength of hockey in the region adding the results cap off another strong year for Inverell Hockey and highlight the depth of talent and passion for the sport within the local community.
