The Inverell Hawks Under 18s have posted their first win of the season since the first round against a strong Narwan side in Round 14 Group 19 Rugby League action over the weekend.
The Hawks took the Eels by surprise and have redeemed themselves since their last meeting in Round 7, taking the day with an impressive 42-26 win, while the Glen Innes Magpies continue to dominate the competition beating the Warialda Wombats 41-6.
In other games, the Men’s division saw the Moree Boomerangs triumph over the Eels 44-20, the Armidale Rams upsetting the Bingara Bullets 46-6 while the Walcha Roos were unable to post a score against a mighty Wombats outfit, Warialda winning 60 Nil.
The Ladies League Tag saw the Boomerangs just pip the Eels in one of the tightest matches of the season 14-12, with the Tigers continuing their fine form however the Magpies did put up a fight with Tingha only managing to win against Glen Innes 18-14, and the Wombats showed the Roos the door holding their position on the ladder with a massive 50-4 win, while the Armidale Rams unfortunately had to forfeit against the Bingara Bullets.
