Inverell Hawks Finals Hopes Starting To Disappear

by | Jul 8, 2024 | Sport | 0 comments

The Inverell Hawks chances of making the Group 19 finals are slipping away quickly after losing to the Armidale Rams 40-26 at Varley Oval on Saturday.

Hawks President Ethan Anderson says the team’s discipline and the sin-binning of full back Dion French proved pivotal in the loss with Armidale’s experienced players taking control of the game.

In other Round 12 results, it was a close game at Gwydir Oval with Warialda Wombats accounting for the Bingara Bullets in a hard-fought contest 30-22 while games at Newling Oval between Narwan Eels and Tingha Tigers were called off due to the oval being closed as it was too wet to play. Both teams will share the points.

In Ladies League Tag. Bingara scorched Warialda 40-nil, Armidale accounted for Inverell 26-12 and the Glen Innes Magpies were too good for the Moree Boomerangs 20-14 while in the Under 18s Glen Innes continue their winning ways with a 46-6 win over Narwan while Inverell forfeited to Warialda.
