The accolades keep on coming for Inverell F.C whose Women’s team were awarded the Team of the Year at the Northern Football Awards in Newcastle on Friday night.
In May, the Club held a charity day that raised $2500 for local cancer organisations that led to them winning the award for Local Champions in May which recognises team culture as well as community involvement and spirit.
Due to this nomination, the team were also in the running for the annual award of the Local Champions for the Northern NSW area which encompasses teams from Newcastle all the way up to the QLD border.
Women’s Coach Mick Mighelli and Peta Devine represented the club at the awards night in Newcastle and were on hand to receive the award.
2024 was the first year that Inverell FC had a women’s team playing in any sort of competition and won the pre-season competition before acquitting themselves well during the regular season.
