Inverell Cricket Association has elected its executive for the 2025/26 season with the prospects of a 5-team competition being considered following last week’s Annual General Meeting.
Liam Spalding has been elected President with Simon Smith returning as Secretary, Treasurer is Dave Mudaliar while the Vice President is Troy Brabant.
There’s a possibility that Glen Innes may return to the competition, joining Square & Compass, Delungra, Campbell & Freebairn and Staggy Creek as well as a proposal of either a T20 or 100 ball competition to open the season.
Secretary Simon Smith says there’s also an increased focus of representative cricket which Inverell hasn’t been part of due to player commitment in recent seasons, with the committee considering re-entering the Connolly Cup 40 over competition and the War Veterans T20 competition but stipulated there would need to be a certain amount of commitment.
