Anticipation is building as the Inverell Aquatic Centre is entering its final stages of construction, with a revised schedule ensuring all service infrastructure is on track for completion.
Inverell Shire Council confirm that on the 9th of December, the moveable Pool Boom will be installed in the 50m pool, followed by the commencement of play equipment being installed within the splash pad area on 11th of December.
Essential Energy is scheduled to connect power to the facility the week commencing 13th January, paving the way for the commissioning phase to commence.
Construction will be finalised by the third week of January, with handover to Council in early February.
Mayor of Inverell Shire, Cr. Kate Dight, inspected the new facility and viewed the silver ceremonial jug which was presented to Lieutenant General Henry Gordon Bennett in commemoration of the opening of the Inverell Memorial Pool in 1958 which will be a special feature in a display of memorabilia.
