A 5-wicket haul from Inverell High school’s Georgie Lennord has led her team to a resounding 6 wicket win over Warialda High School in Round 1 of the Marie Cornish Knockout shield at McCosker Oval yesterday.

Warialda lost repeated wickets through their innings to be all out for 65 with Georgie being on a hattrick at one stage of the innings.

Ellie McSpeddan also chimed in with two wickets while Ashlee Readett and Chelsea Krauss also claimed a wicket each.

In reply, Holly Woodbury blasted 7 boundaries in her innings of 33 to make quick work of the run chase, with Inverell High school finishing with 4/68.

Inverell High school’s next game will be against Oxley high school at a date and venue to be confirmed
