The final of the Inverell Golf Club’s Men’s Presidents Cup was played yesterday.
The matchplay competition started with qualifying rounds back in February and March and has continued with players knocked out each month until yesterday’s final.
Nigel Hill claimed the 2025 Presidents Cup when he defeated Steve Kent in a match that went to the 19th hole.
Steve was 2 up with 3 to go but found the dams on the 16th and 17th before squaring the 18th.
Play then continued back to the 1st hole where Nigel took the match with a par.
Next Saturday will see the men play the qualifying round of the 4-ball-best-ball Marquart Jug with the winning pair on Saturday to also become the Club’s 4-ball-best-ball Champions for 2025.
