Inverell Highlanders 1st grade coach Gemma Noller says their 48-31 loss to the Gunnedah Red Devils is a tough one to swallow following Round 5 results in the Central North Rugby Competition.
Noller says there were some good individual efforts but not a great team performance.
To make matters worse, the Highlanders received a few injuries out of the game.
In the match of the round, the Moree Bulls inflicted reigning premiers the Quirindi Lions first loss of the season following a 40-33 win while the Narrabri Blue Boars held on to defeat Pirates 39-38.
The Highlanders reserve grade team had a good 34-7 win over Gunnedah while its Women’s Team went down 42-35
