Inverell Highlanders have registered their second win of the season with a controlled 36-17 win over Pirates at Rugby Park on Saturday in Central North Rugby weekend results.
The win pushing the Highlanders into 4th spot after 7 rounds.
1st Grade Coach Gemma Noller says she was pleased that her team lifted in defence for the occasion and will build on that effort for this week’s road trip to Moree.
In other Round 7 results, Narrabri Blue Boars knocked over the Moree Bulls 56-38 while the Quirindi Lions jumped to the top of the Central North table after registering a 36-21 win over Gunnedah.
Inverell Highlanders didn’t fare too well in Reserve grade going down 20-0 while its Women’s team battled hard but lost 33-19.
