Inverell Branch of the Westpac Rescue Helicopter is in dire need of volunteers to keep this vital service flying in the Inverell region.
Branch President Tanya Orchard says their BBQ trailer attended 10 events between October and December last year but had to cancel others due to lack of available volunteers.
Ms Orchard says following the retirement of a hardworking couple last month, the group is now left with a secretary and a purchasing officer adding she’s fulfilling four roles at the moment which is becoming physically and mentally draining.
The Inverell branch has raised over $1 million in its over 20-year history with Ms Orchard highlighting the demand for them to host BBQ’s continues to rise.
She’s putting out an urgent call to the community for more volunteers.
The Inverell Branch meetings are held at 5:30pm on the 1st Wednesday of the month at the Inverell RSM Club
