Inverell Hawks have had a tough hit out against the Boggabri Kangaroos in a trial match at Kamilaroi Oval.
The Hawks reserve grade went down 14-10 after playing two 20-minute halves while the 1st grade scored a 34-24 victory in a match played over five 20-minute quarters.
Hawks 1st grade coach Jamie McCormack says Boggabri are a tough and physical side adding the game gave his players some match fitness as well as an opportunity to work on combinations before Round 1 in 3 week’s time.
