The Inverell Hawks have secured a place in the Group 19 Rugby League Grand Final against the Warialda Wombats after defeating the Armidale Rams in the Preliminary Finals at Armidale yesterday.
Right off the blocks, the Inverell side lead the match and managed the fend off a relentless Armidale outfit 44-30, with Hawks President Ethan Anderson confident the team now has the goods to deliver at the big dance.
Meanwhile in the other games, the Ladies Tag Plate saw the Moree Boomerangs dominate the Hawks Ladies side with a massive 34 NIL win, the Ladies tag had the Narwan Eels just scrape through to win against the Bullets 20-18, and the U18s Hawks put up a fight but unfortunately couldn’t match the might of the Wombats, bowing out of the finals race 32-22.
