Reigning Premiers the Inverell Hawks flexed their muscle yesterday after dominating the Tingha Tigers at Varley Oval to record a 38-4 victory in Round 9 results in the Group 19 Rugby League competition.
Leading 10-nil at halftime, the Hawks ran away from the Tigers with 1st grade coach Jamie McCormack very proud of his team’s defensive performance to hold Tingha to 4 points while scoring some entertaining tries courtesy of a hattrick from Dion French and a double to Joven Moore
In other weekend match results, the Uralla Tigers, despite putting in their poorest performance for the season, defeated Guyra Super Spuds 26-10 and Barraba Bulldogs went to Moree and came away with a thumping 56-18 win over the Boomerangs
In reserve grade, Inverell scored a 32-16 win over Tingha and Guyra got the points over Uralla 34-18 while in Ladies league tag, Uralla thumped Guyra 42-8 and Moree Boomerangs were too strong for Barraba winning 22-4
