Hawks Move in Right Direction in Title Defence

by | May 11, 2026 | Sport

Inverell Hawks have given the Moree Boomerangs a football lesson after registering a 60-4 win yesterday at Varley Oval in Group 19 weekend results.

Hawks 1st grade coach Jamie McCormack says he’s very happy with his team performance, especially the team’s defensive effort to keep Moree to only one try.

McCormack says his team will take a lot of confidence out of the game and are now moving in the right direction after a few inconsistent weeks of footy.

In other results, Uralla proved too strong for Tingha to win 36-4, Warialda Wombats accounted for the Barraba Bulldogs 36-8, and Glen Innes thumped Guyra 70-34.

In Ladies League tag, Inverell recorded a 20-12 win over the Boomerangs, Glen Innes 34 defeated Guyra 0, & Barraba thumped Warialda 44-10,

In Reserve grade, Warialda accounted for Barraba 16-8, and Uralla beat Tingha 12-0 while in the only Under 18s match Werris Creek were too strong for Uralla winning 28-0
