Reigning Group 19 1st grade premiers the Inverell Hawks will have a tough assignment defending their title this season with several premiership players indicating they won’t be playing in 2026.
1st grade coach Jamie McCormack says 6 players from their starting premiership team have advised they would like to retire but is hoping some may reconsider.
McCormack says if they don’t come back, it will give someone else an opportunity adding he hopes to put a competitive side on the paddock.
Although a draw hasn’t been finalised and released, McCormack says the Hawks will kick off their season with a couple of road trips to Guyra in Round 1 followed by Warialda in Round 2 before hosting Glen Innes on Anzac Day.
