The countdown is on for Sunday’s Group 19 Grand Final when the Uralla Tigers host the Inverell Hawks in the 1st grade decider at Woodville Oval.
The Tigers have defeated the Hawks in their last two previous encounters and have had the perfect preparation to break the 19-year premiership drought.
Uralla Tigers 1st grade coach Greg Ryan says the town this week has been painted orange, white and black for the occasion adding even the Captain Thunderbolt monument is also decked out in Tigers colours.
Ryan says they’ll focus on certain aspects to claim the title adding defence will play a big part of their game plan on Sunday
Inverell Hawks coach Jamie McCormack says they’ll welcome back Brayden Milocovich from suspension but admits there’s some injury concerns leading up to Sunday’s match.
McCormack says the Tigers go in a hot favourites and they’ll be trying to apply pressure from the outset.
Grand final Day kicks off at 11:30 on Sunday morning with the Ladies League Tag decider between the Glen Innes Magpies and the Inverell Hawkettes, followed at 1pm by the Reserve grade clash between Inverell and Uralla and then then the First-grade clash at 2:30.
