The NSW Electoral Commission will conduct a countback election today to fill a vacancy on Gwydir Shire Council.
The countback election was announced last month following the resignation of Cr Marilyn Dixon due to illness.
A countback election uses the ballot papers from the last Local Government election to determine the next elected councillor, meaning only candidates who nominated at the last election but were not elected are eligible to participate.
According to the NSW electoral commission website, the candidates to stand for the countback election include Stuart Dick, Ravi Gill, and Sally Anne Robinson.
