Gwydir Shire’s Mayor Tiffany Galvin has announced that the Council has decided to appoint Leeah Daley as the Acting General Manager for 12 months from 5th July.
The news comes as Gwydir Shire’s long-serving General Manager, Max Eastcott, is set to retire on 4th July after over 24 years with Council and the former Bingara Shire Council.
Ms Galvin believes Gwydir Shire is in the very fortunate position to have the option of not needing to rush into any final permanent replacement decision straight away.
Mrs Daley says she’s looking forward to the challenges that the acting role will bring and is incredibly grateful for the show of confidence from the Councillors not only in her but all the Council’s senior staff.
