94 players took part in the Inverell Golf club’s men’s 4-ball-best-ball Championships on Saturday.
Dave Ryan and Bob Watson combined well to take out the championship in a very closely contested event.
Watson scored well on the top 9 holes while Ryan impressed on the bottom 9 with their win confirmed after a 4-way countback.
This was also the qualifying round for the Marquart Jug which will start mid-August and continue through to the final in late November.
The ladies have their ‘Open 4-ball-best-ball Sapphire Cup’ coming up in a fortnights time on Wednesday 30 July while this Saturday the club holds its ‘Greenkeepers Revenge’ – a 3-person ambrose.
The course will be covered in all sorts of obstacles such as work vehicles in front of greens, practice balls scattered over greens and difficult pin placements.
