Local golfers competed for the Inverell Offroad and Outdoor Monthly Mug on Saturday, with this men’s competition also being the final of the Hoyt Cup and the Order of Merit.
Steve Kent won the Monthly Mug in a 3-way countback with Jason Shaw and Ryan Kinnear, each finishing with nett 68.
Grade winners were A Grade – Jason Shaw, B Grade – Gary Sharpe, C Grade – Ryan Kinnear and D Grade – Ross Tutt.
Steve Kent capped off a great year by taking out the 2024 Hoyt Cup – the player with the best 8 rounds of the last 12 monthly mugs, also winning the Order of Merit for the player with the most points in competitions throughout the year with bonus points allocated for monthly mugs and championship rounds.
Ross Chilcott returned the best score in Saturday’s play-off round for the Gold Mug, with the play-off being between the past 11 monthly mug winners. This makes Ross the holder of the 2024 Gold Mug.
