Glen Innes Severn Council advise their Parks team will be conducting a test tree jackhammering activity on Grey Street between Bourke and Wentworth streets this Sunday.
The works, which are part of the Glen Innes Town Centre Beautification Project, will be conducted from 7am to 12 noon and will involve cement around one median tree in Grey St being removed and replaced with grass plants and mulch.
Council state that two car spaces near the tree will be closed to allow room for the excavator, however, there will be no road closures and very minimal delays expected to through traffic.
The Beautification Project upgrades include adding more greenery and flowers to garden beds and roundabouts, installing new modern street furniture which includes seating, bins, planter boxes and bollards and restamping the town square
