Gwydir Shire Council has met with Telstra representatives to discuss the recent communication and internet outages across the shire.
At Easter, Bingara residents were left without ATM access and minimal mobile services while businesses were without internet and EFTPOS facilities which forced them to miss out on sales on one the busiest weekends of the year.
Mayor Tiffany Galvin says the issue is right across the Shire adding the Warialda Cup meeting was also hampered by the lack of internet services as well as issues at Northstar and Gravesend.
She says the discussions with Telstra were positive adding the telecommunications giant will investigate the outages affecting the shire and report back to Council with their finding
