Galvin Excited to Lead Fresh Faced Gwydir Shire Council

by | Oct 22, 2024 | Politics | 0 comments

New Gwydir Shire Council Mayor Tiffany Galvin has thanked the community for their support following the recent local government election saying she’s ‘pretty chuffed’ to become the Shire’s new Mayor.

Cr Galvin was elected to the position of Mayor following a mayoral election last week which also saw Warialda’s Sean Coleman elected as the shire’s new Deputy Mayor.

Ms Galvin has served two terms as a Councillor and says working alongside former mayor John Coulton and deputy Mayor Catherine Egan has given her the confidence to undertake the new role, adding she has big shoes to fill.

She believes despite being a relatively fresh-faced council, with only two councillors with experience in this term of council, the new councillors will work together for the benefit of the Gwydir community.

Mayor Tiffany Galvin and Deputy Mayor Sean Coleman are joined by the following Councillors who will represent the Gwydir Shire Council over the next 4 years:

▪️Cr Sarah Crump

▪️ Cr Mick Collins

▪️ Cr Marilyn Dixon

▪️ Cr Rachel Sherman

▪️ Cr Scot Crispin

▪️ Cr John Bishton

▪️ Cr Adrian Willmot

Cr Galvin says they’ll be working towards making the Shire attractive to the community and visitors.
