New England MP Barnaby Joyce says $9.7 million for the Guyra Saleyards and Armidale Saleyards is a substantial investment that he has fought for and is now delivering on.
Speaking on STA FM yesterday, Mr Joyce says the funds were announced when the Coalition was in government but have been fighting for it to be paid out by the Albanese government.
Mr Joyce says the farmers who sell fat lambs at the Guyra Saleyards do a good job because the fruits of their labour mean that people eat and are clothed.
He says saleyards are vitally important to the region because they bring the rural commerce to the district.
