The Inverell community is invited to get active, connect and have some fun these school holidays at a free 3×3 basketball community event on Wednesday 7 October.
Held from 10am to 2.30pm at the Inverell Basketball Stadium, the event is being delivered through a partnership between Pathfinders, Inverell Basketball Association, Basketball NSW and Armajun Aboriginal Health Service.
The day will feature free 3×3 basketball, activities for children, a free BBQ lunch and lucky door prizes, providing an opportunity for children, young people and families to get involved, meet others and enjoy a fun day together.
No basketball experience is required, with everyone welcome to come along and have a go.
The event is also being held during Mental Health Month, with this year’s theme, Together We Thrive, highlighting the importance of connection and coming together to support mental health and wellbeing.
Pathfinders spokesperson Chantelle Paull said the event was a great opportunity to bring people together during the school holidays.
“We wanted to create a fun day where everyone can come along, have a go at basketball, enjoy a free lunch and connect with other people in the community.
“It’s about getting active, having fun and creating an opportunity for people to come together, regardless of their basketball experience.”
The event will provide a welcoming environment for children and families to participate in activities, enjoy basketball and connect with local organisations and services.
