A former Uralla Shire Councillor, who is contesting Saturday’s Armidale Local government election, has fronted Armidale Local Court facing various charges relating to an incident in Narrabri last year.
Natasha Ledger is charged with common assault and domestic violence against a man at Yarrie Lake, near Narrabri on Tuesday, June 13, 2023 as well stalking and intimidating the same man in August last year.
The Northern Daily Leader reports Ms Ledger, representing herself, had asked the matter be heard after September 15th to allow her to fulfil her commitments for the Armidale election where she’s standing as an Independent but Magistrate Robert Rabbidge refused further adjournments saying Time is extraordinarily precious in these courts.
The case had been adjourned on several occasions this year.
Ms Ledger has contested recent elections for the Federal seat of New England and the state seat of the Northern Tablelands as an independent.
